Trauma Reprocessing Therapy & Training

Going beyond coping skills: Trauma Reprocessing helps clients explore the meaning of their experiences across the lifespan, including military service. These treatments are not only backed by research, they intuitively resonate with clients and providers. They foster cognitive–experiential insight such as, “I see now that it wasn’t my fault” and offer emotional healing through imagery reprocessing, where one’s current age self imagines delivering a healing message to their younger self.

✔ Low client dropout
✔ Rapid, sustainable breakthroughs
✔ A practice that feels inspiring

At the Trauma Reprocessing Institute, we train clinicians on techniques that reach deep core patterns, and strategies for change by considering context, holistic reappraisals, meta-reframes, and imagery reprocessing. This treatment helps clients gain a fresh perspective, release self-blame, make sense of their lives, and find an empowered pathway forward.

About Research

EVIDENCE IS BUILDING!

27 outcome studies conducted in the United States and Middle East found significant decreases in symptoms of PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and negative thoughts as well as improved secure Attachment, Optimism, Cognitive flexibility, and Quality of life. Randomized trials compared to Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing (CPT), and Dialectal Behavioral (DBT) therapies found equal effectiveness, with aspects of trauma reprocessing superior in each trial.

About the Trauma Reprocessing Institute

In 1993, Dr Lori Katz, a clinical psychologist, was assigned to work at a new women’s health clinic. She noticed client after client had experienced interpersonal traumas with pervasive effects. She felt the current treatments were both too narrow and didn’t reach deep enough to address core violations and identity wounds. She set out to develop innovative treatments that could heal with insight and compassion. (Read more about the Founder, the Institute, and Advisory Board)…
